SOON AFTER LAUNCHING TFOS, FOLLOWING AN ENLIGHTENING CONVERSATION WITH HER FATHER, DR. DAVID A. SULLIVAN, CIRCA JANUARY OF 2002, AMY BEGAN RESEARCHING THE CORRELATION BETWEEN COSMETIC USAGE AND DRY EYE. SHE VIVIDLY REMEMBERS THE CONVERSATION  WITH HER FATHER IN PARIS' PLACE SAINT MICHEL, AND HAS BEEN ON A MISSION TO LEARN MORE SINCE.  AMY'S FATHER, DR. DAVID A. SULLIVAN IS A WORLD-RENOWNED PhD, WHOSE LIFE'S RESEARCH HAS FOCUSED ON SEX, HORMONES AND THE EYE, PARTICULARLY HOW THE MENAGE-A-TROIS IS RELATED TO DRY EYE DISEASE. AMY'S MOTHER, ROSE, A NURSE BY PROFESSION AND DRY EYE SUFFERER, WAS LONG AGO RECRUITED INTO THE EYE FIELD AND MANAGES OPERATIONS FOR TFOS. AMY'S BROTHER, BENJAMIN, IS ALSO A PhD, AS WELL AS THE INVENTOR OF THE TEARLAB TECHNOLOGY, A DRY EYE DIAGNOSTICS COMPANY. DAVID AND BENJAMIN ARE ALSO CO-INVENTORS OF A NEW DRY EYE THERAPEUTIC, WHICH IS CURRENTLY IN CLINICAL TRIALS. BEFORE STARTING TFOS, AMY WORKED WITH THE TECHNOLOGY AND FINANCIAL SECTORS. SHE DABBLED IN DOT.COMS AND FOCUSED IN PARTICULAR ON STRATEGIC BRANDING, E-COMMERCE, MEDIA RELATIONS FOR EUROPE, ASIA-PACIFIC & THE AMERICAS. AMY BEGAN HER CAREER IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND BRANDING WITH FIDELITY INVESTMENTS, WHERE SHE DEVELOPED PUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES FOR THE US AND SOUTH AMERICAN MARKETS. ON THE SIDE OF TFOS, AMY IS CO-FOUNDER OF THE ITALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PATRONS OF THE ARTS IN THE VATICAN MUSEUMS. PASSIONATE ABOUT PROMOTING THE PERPETUATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE ARTS, SHE IS ALSO BUILDING GLOBAL AWARENESS FOR THE MUSEUMS' COLLECTIONS, PARTICULARLY SHOWCASING THEIR EXHIBITS FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED, MULTI-SENSORY EXPERIENCES WHERE THE BLIND CAN 'SEE' ART. AMY SPEAKS MULTIPLE LANGUAGES INCLUDING ENGLISH, FRENCH, ITALIAN, SPANISH AND BASIC PORTUGUESE. CURRENTLY IN BOSTON (USA), SHE HAS ALSO LIVED IN FRANCE, ITALY, ARGENTINA AND SPAIN AS WELL AS TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. SHE EARNED HER BACHELOR OF SCIENCE FROM BOSTON UNIVERSITY, IN MASS COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS. IN HER FREE TIME, AMY CAN BE FOUND TRAVELING, TASTING MICHELIN-STAR EXPERIENCES, WRITING, PHOTOGRAPHING LIFE, TRAINING FOR HALF-MARATHONS, AND ATTENDING ANTIQUE AUCTIONS OR BROWSING FOR TREASURES IN MARCHE AUX PUCES.
