SHE VIVIDLY REMEMBERS THE CONVERSATION WITH HER FATHER IN PARIS' PLACE SAINT MICHEL, AND HAS BEEN ON A MISSION TO LEARN MORE SINCE. AMY'S FATHER, DR. DAVID A. SULLIVAN IS A WORLD-RENOWNED PhD, WHOSE LIFE'S RESEARCH HAS FOCUSED ON SEX, HORMONES AND THE EYE, PARTICULARLY HOW THE MENAGE-A-TROIS IS RELATED TO DRY EYE DISEASE. AMY'S MOTHER, ROSE, A NURSE BY PROFESSION AND DRY EYE SUFFERER, WAS LONG AGO RECRUITED INTO THE EYE FIELD AND MANAGES OPERATIONS FOR TFOS. AMY'S BROTHER, BENJAMIN, IS ALSO A PhD, AS WELL AS THE INVENTOR OF THE TEARLAB TECHNOLOGY, A DRY EYE DIAGNOSTICS COMPANY. DAVID AND BENJAMIN ARE ALSO CO-INVENTORS OF A NEW DRY EYE THERAPEUTIC, WHICH IS CURRENTLY IN CLINICAL TRIALS. BEFORE STARTING TFOS, AMY WORKED WITH THE TECHNOLOGY AND FINANCIAL SECTORS.
